The Uncommon started years ago almost by accident. I was out with a photography class in Sacramento and we were basically allowed to shoot whatever we wanted, just to see what happened. I wondered as I walked what others were shooting and knew that no one would bring the same image in even though we were all around the same area. This is of course because everyone, regardless of how similar they may seem, sees the world uniquely. But just how uniquely, just how different? And then I came upon a bridge spanning from Old Sacramento to West Sacramento, and the alien landscape of The Uncommon I was born.
That's where this began. I try to take the everyday item, the common place, and see things differently. I choose a different angle, a different way of viewing, a different color, whatever I think might work. I wondered in the beginning about changing the colors in Photoshop and felt that it fit right. Haven't you ever seen the same car as someone else (or house, or shirt, etc) and wondered what it would look like in a different color? In a different light? Bigger? Smaller? By playing with angles, with color, with direction and scale I hope to show things as they might be to some but never as you would see them normally. To take something and wonder, "what if?" is, I feel, important. Not just in these small images but in all things, on a grander scale. This is just my way of expressing that idea. These things aren't common, they are The Uncommon.

Thanks for the fav and watch.
Yeah, we're pretty close, I'm in the Placerville area. You've got some cool work, quite abstract, one of my favorites. Keep in touch, drop me a note anytime.
